I tried the new m3u2strm and find that the generated files contain a peculiar "[" in the name. For example: "The Peanuts Movie [ (2015).strm". It seems the year format gets mangled here. The old version of m3u2strm yield "The Peanuts Movie [2015].strm". Please check. Thank you.

Okay thanks for noticing, ill change it i try the apps with my own m3u's - but some providers use other filenaming, so that might be why it got mangled. But ill fix it -

I also noticed that when I click on the same movie in the GUI, I get error: "Parser Error: Access violation at address 008A9E46 in module 'XDpro.exe'. Read of address 0000000C."

In the GUI, the movie is listed as "The Peanuts Movie [2015]".

I send u a pm with the updated version of the m3u2strm, can u give it a try please? I cant test it myself as my m3u's dont have filenames containing [ or ].
And what do you mean by when i click on the same movie?

The m3u2strm now works. It gives "The Peanuts Movie (2015).strm" So the difference to the old version is the use of parentheses "()" instead of square brackets "[]".

With "Click on same movie", I mean I open the GUI, load the m3u, then in "title" windows I click on the the movie "The Peanuts Movie [2015]". So something is parsing incorrectly in the GUI version as well.

Yes thanks, i fixed it - the problem is some providers like GenIPTV, dont send any movie/series/episode data.. I fixed it now, i will check it and update it in a sec. This does mean that people might not be able to see any movie/series information, but that depends on the provider..

Thanks, happy to try the fix.

Just updated to 1.1.0.55, the Parsing error should be fixed - do notice that some providers (like GenIPTV) do not provide full movie/series information for some groups.. (This also was the error). But this error should be fixed now Also thank you for checking, i updated the M3U 2 STRM also in this update setup.

I updated to v1.1.0.55. The m3ustrm.exe works fine. However, I still get the parse error and so I did some more digging. It turns out that the link to the movie .mkv file listed in the m3u is a dead link. This explains why there is no movie data. Not sure why the parse error persists. Does this error need to be caught separately?

Can u tell me what provider you use? I tried it with GenIPTV, where they also where missing data - and what caused the error. I now did check for a valid response - because the response data is in JSON, and should meet a standard - but i noticed some providers dont keep to this standard, and thats where the parsing error is..

I checked several of the movies which produce the parser error, and in each case VLC is unable to open the file. When I enter the URL in the browser, nothing is returned. So it seems that there is no response from the server. Could the response be empty?

Yes might be the problem; Ill check it tomorrow its already over midnight here
so im going to sleep over it - and check it tomorrow. Ill send u a pm with some accounts so you can download/try other providers - those are free lists i find on the internet - so you can compare with others

Yes, get some sleep, no rush, we can continue tomorrow. Thank you for being so response. I am happy to test your other lists but I am sure the fault is with the few dead links in my provider's m3u. Good night!
